Cheesy Ranch Tater Tots

I make a lot of frozen tater tots. We like to eat them with sloppy joes, BLTs, and burgers. I saw a yummy looking recipe on Pinterest for cheesy fries, where you make your own fries and add lots of delicious fattening toppings, so I tried it with my frozen tater tots. I usually half this when I use it as a side for my family.

Cheesy Ranch Tater Tots

1 bag frozen tater tots (or french fries)
Sour Cream Ranch Sauce
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/4 cup milk
Toppings
1 cup (or as much as you like) Shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup real bacon bits
1/4 cup green onions
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Cook frozen tater tots according to package directions.
2. Spread 3/4 of the sour cream ranch sauce onto an oven safe serving platter. (I used a cookie sheet)
3. Arrange tots on top of the sauce.
4. Drizzle remaining sauce on the top, and sprinkle on the toppings.
5. Place under broiler for a few seconds to melt the cheese.
Serve immediately

I pinned this on Pinterest and within 15 minutes it had been repinned 34 times! LOL! Thanks for sharing - this is definitely on our menu..mmmmm....

The whole family LOVES these taters! I saw this recipe on FB and never printed it out. Thankfully, all I had to do was google "ranch tater tots" and your pic came right up and led me right to your blog. So glad to be reunited with this delish recipe!

Made these tonight...I used a nonstick 8 1/2 by 11 cake pan to prepare these. I used real bacon, I diced it up raw and then cooked it up. Delish! I wouldn't change a thing.

Is this soupy? Or is sauce thick like a casserole?

I'm not sure I understand the question, but if you asking about the consistency of just the sauce, it's like a dipping sauce, not super runny, but not as thick as sour cream because of the added liquid. You can use the sauce how you'd like too. I don't always put it on the bottom, I like to just drizzle it on the top. You could leave it off all together and use it as a dip.

I just made this (didn't have any tots so I used frozen fries) and it was so good!! Will DEFINITELY be making this again!

Is there a way to make this as a casserole or in a crockpot?

Hi! I would probably not recommend preparing it that way because only the top layer of tater tots would be crispy. The rest would be soft.
